Porter is the stage name of one Chris Porter. While Porter has been in the business for years working with acts The Back Row Baptists and Some Dark Holler; this the first time I’ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with his music. This Red Mountain is his solo debut and it is a cracking piece of Americana produced by Will Johnson. Originally from Birmingham, Porter moved to Austin after starting a relationship with fellow musician Bonnie Whitmore. From there This Red Mountain became a possibility. Together they enlisted Chris Masterson and Bonnie’s sister, Eleanor Whitmore; the namesakes of The Mastersons, Falcon Valdez and Austin legend Jon Dee Graham.
