In “Lost Weekend”, Nick Carter’s first independent release, there is a story in each song, and, behind each story, a different state of the heart. Nick usually performs as a solo singer with acoustic guitar; however, in “Lost Weekend”, you will hear four additional musicians, playing electric and lap steel guitar, electric and stand-up bass, drums and keyboards behind Nick’s singing. Nick taught music for 15 years and has become a perennial student of blue grass, folk, rock and Americana music traditions. As a songwriter, he acknowledges the influences of blues pathfinders, Son House and Robert Johnson, as well as The Beatles and Bob Dylan, John Prine and Jackson Browne, Don Schlitz and Andre Pessis.
