The Bluesfest 2016 line-up just keeps growing and adding some impressive names each time. Today Bluesfest, the Five Day Festival, held annually over Easter just north of Byron Bay )Thu 24 March to Mon 28 March 2016) announces five new additions to the 2016 line-up.
Former Beach Boy Brian Wilson will perform on Easter Monday one of the greatest albums of all time, the resounding masterpiece Pet Sounds with an eleven-piece band including original Beach Boys member Al Jardine and long-term member Blondie Chaplin plus an eight piece string section.
Prominent country blues musician Taj Mahal has also been added to the line-up, solo and unplugged for the first time in Australia since 1994.

Avant-garde American collective The Residents will be presenting Shadowland on its 40th Anniversary tour. The Bluesfest bill for next year has really nailed some emerging and exciting artists and Denver soul sensations Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are another, the seven-piece soul band making its Bluesfest debut on the back of a brilliant self-titled album released this year.
Scotland’s Shooglenifty will also be making its Bluesfest debut in March 2016.
Brian Wilson will be performing on Easter Monday, 28 March along with Tom Jones, Joe Bonamassa, Jason Isbell, Taj Mahal, plus more yet to be announced. Taj Mahal will also deliver a set on Easter Sunday, 27 March.
