Last night I saw Floridian JJ Grey and Mofro live for the second time (in St Augustine Florida) and it was confirmation of his incredible presence on stage, a giant voice, a big band with muscle and soul.
The band played at Bluesfest in Byron Bay and a single show in Sydney early this year. So Australians get the chance to welcome back JJ Grey and Mofro for a run of festival appearances and headline shows this October 2015. I for one am happy that I will back in Australia in time to see him again.
I strongly advise you don’t miss this mighty band that delivers a soulful blend of blues, rock, folk, funk, gospel, gritty R&B and personal Southern-inspired narratives. The band’s latest, excellent release Ol’ Glory will no doubt feature heavily in the set lists of the new shows, as it did yesterday. See my review here.
