Showcase on Americanafest 2015 #8
JD & The Straight Shot has evolved a little over the years. The current line-up features primary singer-songwriter Jim Dolan at the front of what is a pretty impressive outfit – guitarist Aidan Dolan, guitarist Marc Copely (Rosanne Cash and the McCrary Sisters) and violinist Erin Slaver (Rod Stewart).
The band’s latest album Where I’ve Been, produced by Joe Walsh, was released in 2014.
Dolan started JD & The Straight Shot in 2000 and albums to follow were Midnight Run (2012), Can’t Make Tears (2011), Right On Time (2008), and Nothing To Hide (2005).
Here’s a new track “Better Find a Church”, which has a gentle Americana and soulful vibe to it. The song was produced by Americana and alt. country legend Rodney Crowell.
JD & The Straight Shot are playing at the 2015 Americana Music Festival this September.
