Hanya are a Brighton two-piece whose lush layering and deep, sonic textures defy their simple set up.
Recalling Angel Olsen or PJ Harvey, Heather Sheret’s vocals can go from grit to honey, weaving extra layers and emotion into the band’s wall of sound. Her guitar like a one-person My Bloody Valentine – crunching riffs that recall early Black Keys and all backed by Jack Watkin’s expressive percussion.
