21 years and 9 albums into their career, Brett & Rennie Sparks, otherwise known as The Handsome Family, finally got their reward for their genius songwriting and ceaseless touring. In early 2014 T Bone Burnett chose their 2003 song ‘Far From Any Road’ as the theme tune to the soon to be cult HBO TV series True Detective. The song has now had over 5 million YouTube views and, as a result, the band have been playing sold out across Europe, Australia and the USA. March 2015 will see The Handsome Family play an extensive tour of Ireland and the UK.
