As you read this, singer-songwriter Paul Thompson is already underway on an epic musical journey from his home county of Norfolk to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (via The Belladrum Tartan Heat Fringe) ...in a milk float!
Follow his progress here https://www.facebook.com/paultsmusic
Every week during his Floating to the Fringes 2015 Tour there will be a free download up for grabs of my new CD 'Lost in the Land of Midnight Sun'. All you have to do for a chance to win is to take a picture of Bluebell the milk float during her travels between Norfolk and the Edinburgh Fringe, and share it on Facebook / Twitter with the hashtag#spotpaul.
Playing outdoor spaces, arts centres, festivals, eco-centres, clubs, village halls, and house concerts, Paul is travelling in a specially converted milk float that utilises solar panels to power stage lighting and music gear. He is the first solo musician ever to tour Britain in a milk float.
Paul’s music has been described as ‘blissed out Donovan meets John Martyn’, and he uses a loop box (think Ed Sheeran) to layer guitar, vocals and rhythm. Paul has been performing professionally for 10 years and has toured Europe, the US, Canada and New Zealand, but maintains this will be his most exciting tour so far. Performing the songs from his new album 'Lost in the Land of Midnight Sun', Paul will be travelling at a grand speed of 15mph as far as the
Outer Hebrides and through the Highlands on the Flyinshoes Review Belladrum Tartan Heart Fringe to the Belladrum Festival and Edinburgh Fringe, where he will be playing on George Street each day during the final two weeks of August.
Having already crossed the North Pennines and survived a burn-out motor along Hadrian's Wall, Paul is as determined as ever to complete the tour, which also sees him running song writing workshops with a theme of appreciating the
environment, and providing support slots for emerging singer songwriters.
Paul is keeping a blog of the tour and is planning to write a book about his journey. All the latest details can be found at his website, www.paulsmusic.co.uk, and if you'd like to book him or catch up with him along the way for radio interviews PA's to play please contact him directly: or rob@medicinemusic.co.uk
