Welsh-born, singer-songwriter Steve Logan is heavily influenced by the raw edgy music of Neil Young (plus Free and Paul Rogers in particular), but not to the degree he is totally obsessed with his style. Talking about the record Logan says ‘I’ve tried to bring out the poetry in music and the music in poetry. They’re really forms of the same thing —a current of feeling that comes out either as notes or words.’

Logan doesn’t he allow his music to become a shadow of the legendary performer, no way. Logan is his own man, and loves nothing better than craft a good lyric, pump up the ante and let ‘er rip. He is a good writer and with him utilising Rhys Wilson (acoustic, electric guitar), Lee Cave-Berry (bass guitar) and Paul Richards (drums) to go with his acoustic, electric guitar and harmonica) you have a cohesive recording. Mixed in tempo with country flavours on the likes of the bright ‘n’ breezy “While Eagles Fly” and “Spanish Steps” aided by bustling “Long Way From Home” and jostling “Broken Chains” a solid enough base is set, but after hearing his first track I was left waiting for more, the album to take off, the shackles be removed.

Rather than blend in with his own sound he tends to leave his options open and not press home with a sound of his own, return to the more punch and direct feel of his debut album Signs And Wonders (2014. After the all-fired up opening title-track he doesn’t let go till “Small Town Blues”; that houses lots of rockin’ but not overly so, electric guitars and pounding rhythm as he speaks of the magnetic draw of the city. He exchanged home for London, to play the streets and subways as a busker, before moving up to pubs, clubs and other venues doing Neil Young covers at first, and then in 2013 he formed his own band, Geronimo and started to develop even more.
